Mr. Dottie, Domestic Shorthair For Adoption In New York, New York

Location:
New York, NY
Description:

A volunteer writes:Mr Dottie shared his life with seventeen other cats. What kind of position did he hold in this large group of felines? Was he shy, was he bold? Was he the popular kid on the block? We will never know if he stays in his kennel..Mr Dottie is on the fearful side at the care center, like many of his housemates. He is curious, though and rarely is in hiding but ready for cover if one tries to pet him. He sits in a loaf position on his balcony or on top of his "house" and observes keenly all his visitor's moves. He is a very pretty tabby, has the most endearing face and soft blinks when he hears soft and encouraging words. He likes treats and food and keeps clean quarters. Mr Dottie needs to be given a chance at a "normal" pet life, away from a shelter environment, may be with another feline and in the hands of a loving and experienced new owner. Mr Dottie needs to start a new life with...You!! He is waiting at the Manhattan Care Center.Mr. Dottie tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home. Please check here for updated adoption hours.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.
